    MARC/Gentleebrutal
Marc/Gentleebrutal was introduced into the world of kink in 2012. Rope was my entry point into this world and since then my passion continues to keep growing. I love the intimacy, connection, and trust one can build within rope and a person. The energy and creativity I receive from these moments are an endless journey of growth and discovery. I am lucky enough to have had great mentors that have taught me the beauty of Kinbaku.

Gentleebrutal has taught classes for CARE/SORE, private lessons, ARS, and SADDE all in Austin, Tx. I have also taught at:
    • Ropecraft Austin (2018)
    • Ropecraft Chicago(2019, 2022)
    • Ropecraft homebound.(2020)
    • Tethered Wifi (2021)
    • Tethered Together (2022)
    • Brooklyn Library (2022)
    • Tiny Space in Denver (2022)
    • Oblige in detroit (2022)
    • BED (Bondage Expo Dallas 2023)
    • EURIX23 (2023)
    • ARC (Austin Rope Collective)

    JORDYN /PedalGirl
The world of kink has opened up an amazing journey in my life and when I discovered rope it quickly became a huge enjoyment of mine. The place it takes me, along with the challenge, is a blissful feeling. I love the animalistic energy I feel flow through me and the joy I receive from pushing and continuing to learn new things. Connecting, growing, and energy are very important to me and I love when that comes through in my ties.

Marc/Gentleebrutal and PedalGirl have taught intensives, privates, and performed together locally and at different venues all over the US. We find our rope to be connective, fun, creative, and splashes of a sadistic style with lots of delicious sounds. We enjoy safely pushing boundaries and discovering all the wonderful things that come with creating. Rope has been a space for us to continue to grow and share with others around us. From teaching to just tying us two, it has been a wonderful connective growing journey.

  • Braxas/Neya
    Braxas/Neya

    Braxas:

I first fell in love with Kinbaku in 2016 when I attended the Kinbaku Dojo Berlin. Since then, my life has been a whirlwind of private tuition, workshops and rope events. I began my journey in Osada style and although I have evolved a lot since then, I owe a lot to the incredibly detailed and thorough education that I received.

I enjoy exploring a deeper understanding of ‘Why?’ when it comes to both the emotional and technical aspects of Kinbaku. I believe, that when we can rationalise our decisions, we put ourselves in the best possible position to be creative and enjoy our partners.

To me, Kinbaku isn’t about patterns or pretty shapes. Patterns are a tool, and pretty shapes are the by-product. Kinbaku is about taking your own internal emotional monologue and turning it into an ex-ternal emotional dialogue. The journey is what matters to me.

    Neya:

Even though I found myself firstly in the role of the rigger and I still tie in active role more often than the passive one, in the last couple of years I started focusing on the model role a lot as well. I went through several not just technical but also emotional styles and gathered a lot of insights about my way to experience rope from the other side.

The thing that matters to me the most, when it comes to rope bottoming, is authenticity. I am trying to find that very aspect within all my sessions as well as teaching. Emotional and physical safety has many ways and rules and are the most important when models learn about rope but at the end it all comes back to the goal we have. Which could vary from aerial shows to emotional one rope sessions. All of this is valid if we are true to ourselves and our partners and my goal as a teacher is to show this to my audience.

  • Felix Ruckert/Noemi
    Felix Ruckert/Noemi

    Felix Ruckert
Following a long career as an internationally renowned dancer and choreographer Felix expand-ed his skill set, when – on tour in Japan – he discovered Shibari or Kinbaku – Japanese Rope Bondage in 1999. Starting as an autodidact, just copying from photos in Japanese rope bondage magazines, he soon had the chance to study with Hagen in Berlin, Matthias T.J. Grimme, Midori, Shadow and Osada Steve, who became his first teachers.
When in 2007 he opened schwelle7, it quickly became an important hub for the international Shi-bari community. For nine years Felix regularily invited masters from Japan to schwelle7 and therefore had the opportunity to expand his knowledge, studying intensively with some of the most influential Japanese masters: Arisue Go, Nawashi Kanna, Hajime Kinoko, Akira Naka, Otonaya Otonawa and Ren Yagami amongst others. By programming Shibari at schwelle7 Felix Ruckert played a significant role in popularizing the practice in Berlin and throughout Europe. The schwelle7 location and style became a model for many rope bondage dojos all over the continent.
Coming from dance and theatre Felix also created dozens of Rope Bondage Performances, collab-orating with and learning from artists such as Dasniya Sommer, Caritia, Gorgone, Nicolas Yoroi, Pilar LaOtra, Anna Noctuelle, Sophia Rose, Tifereth and Saara Rei amongst others. He also creat-ed several performances in a theatre context that integrated elements of Japanese Rope Bondage: STILLEN (2000), DIE FARM (2006), DRYADE – A DARK FAIRY (2011) and ZERO GRAVITY ZONE (2012).
Currently Felix Ruckert curates and organizes twice a year the EURIX – The European Rig-ger&Model Exchange in Berlin, which is the most popular international meetings for rope artists who engage in the development of Kinbaku as an art form. For EURIX Felix wrote his Guidelines for Rope Bondage Presenters as well as the EURIX Guidelines for Negotiation and Establishing Consent. At EURIX he regularily presents short Rope Bondage Performances applying three con-ceptual rules: using innovative technique, defining narrative and subtext, and applying tools of instant composition.
Felix’ private as well as his public Tying is unconventional and does not follow any particular style. He draws from a vast variety of techniques and schools, his ties adapt to each partner and each situation, composing with body, rope, time and space, in often unpredictable ways. On the technical side he constantly tries to invent new patterns and ties and is particularly interested in creative and quick suspensions, often using a minimum of rope, both on bamboo and ring. He also enjoys floor work, integrating all forms of other sensual practices, from impact play and knives to breath control and mindfuck. On the stage he tries to create strong theatrical experiences, to make meaning, to provoke reactions and thoughts. He also likes to reflect and investigate the societal and political impact rope bondage practice can have. He sees rope bondage practice as a model for a mutually beneficial human collaboration, for an exercise in consent and for an opportunity to reinterpretate power relations and deconstruct gender stereotypes.

    Noemi
Noemi discovered Shibari in 2019 and has been involved mainly as a model ever since. What interests her most about Shibari is the playful and creative aspect as well as the physical challenge and immediacy. Her training as a professional actress and dancer provides her with valuable skills, which she passes on eloquently and humorously in workshops. She sees Shibari as an artistic collaboration at eye level and impressively embodies the active and creative aspect of the model role.
She is part of the Rope community at the IKSK in Berlin where she also appears regularly as a performer. She made a strong impression at Boundcon 2023, where she created a highly acclaimed performance with Felix Ruckert. She also regularly ties with VÆGABØUND (Halle), Morgenrrot (Berlin) and Rope Phoenix (Brazil).

  • Anitta/Gabrielle
    Anitta/Gabrielle

Anitta originally comes from the world of yoga, meditation and Argentinian tango. She has many years of experience in teaching rope bondage, teaching couples and bigger groups. She moved very fast from the Japanese bondage style into a more free creative tying style. She teaches all levels, with focus on how to explore and expand ways you can tie, play with each other, move and dance together. She is passionate about creating playful spaces where people connect deeply with themselves and others. She embraces the awkward and weird, and also likes to go slow and deeply.

Gabrielle is a familiar face in the Copenhagen kink scene and has been part of various different communities for the past 7 years. In recent years she has been involved in organizing and facilitating events such as Ropetogether and The Conscious kink sessions. Gabrielle is passionate about continuously learning and staying curious, playing with authenticity and humor, and how awareness of our sexuality can bring deeper connections.

  • Asiana/Door
    Asiana/Door

    Asiana
Since Asiana saw the first images of Japanese women tied up in rope she’s been hooked on kinbaku. Although she started as a rope model she quickly developed herself as a competent rope top. She loves to share this passion for kinbaku with others both by teaching and performing. She’s quite well known for her technical skills but also enjoys to show people the playful and creative sides of rope. Privately her preferred style is semenawa when she can enjoy the beauty of suffering when tying her models. Kinbaku is the perfect way for Asiana to express herself and connect with others.

    Door
For Door, rope modelling is a never-ending journey of going deeper into the current moment and into herself. She admires the versatility of rope and enjoys being tied in many different styles. For her, being a rope model is like being a raw material that is used by the rigger in their creative process, and she believes that the quality of the ‘material’ is instrumental in achieving high quality of bondage. The skills that are for her the most important are body awareness and genuine expression. Both require practice, in and out of ropes. Therefore, apart from kinbaku, she practises other performing arts and various body-mind techniques. She loves to share her knowledge and experience with those who ask.

  • Sari/Kuku
    Sari/Kuku

Sari (she/her) unusual and challenging performances and sessions left a strong impression at the last EURIX. After years of experience as a rope model she has developed her own style, which is characterised by straightforward aesthetics, intense emotion and a strong D/ s dynamic. Her technique is precise, anatomically skilful and perfectly adapted to the particularities of her respective model. Her experience with dance, yoga and various forms of bodywork come to her aid. Her sessions are slow, controlled and insistent. Her handling of male bodies in particular is impressive, and she knows how to stage them in a challenging and sexy way. Sari effortlessly switches from sadistic cruelty to tender attention, captivating both her rope partners and her audience.
(my bio was written by Felix Ruckert)

Kuku (she/her), Chinese rope bottom, shibari model and performer. She started her rope journey in Shanghai in 2019. Now she is living in Italy, being active in Italian and European rope scenes. In addition to discovering and enjoying shibari for personal pleasure, she also devotes herself to sharing experiences and spreading the beauty of shibari from bottom side. She has been bottoming for shibari performances, shootings, lessons, and workshops with various riggers in China, Italy and other European countries, which includes bottoming for Hajime Kinoko’s performances and workshop during his tour in Italy.
