Communication in ropes – Intermediate
Both riggers and bottoms have many different ways to express themselves as well as many different goals while tying or being tied. Let’s talk about soft skills as well as hard skills that everyone can learn and improve on. In this workshop bottoms will focus on how to learn about themselves and their bodies and how to communicate while being in ropes. Riggers can learn how to read the signals of their partners easier and to achieve smooth experience with the least effort.
Exercises will contain various challenges for bottoms as well for riggers. We will tie on the floor, in partials and also in full suspension. We will address things like body awareness, non verbal communication both ways, risk management, body load distribution, active and passive modeling as well as many ways for models how to help themselves without the help of their rigger. Exercises will be adjustable as we understand that every body is different so you can stick with harnesses you know the best. Riggers will learn many tricks to make their tying faster, neater and generally more efficient.
Part of the workshop will be dedicated to pain management, distinguishing which pain is safe and which pain might be dangerous as well as pain processing for both models and riggers. Not every bottom craves to be in pain while being tied but that is sometimes the only way to achieve the partial or full suspensions. We will cover many different ways how to handle the pain emotionally as well as physically to let models decide if they want to prolong their time in challenging ties OR right the opposite – to make it hurt more if that’s what they crave. Riggers will learn how to help their bottoms to manage and process the pain. processing
All of the exercises will be scalable so you can use the skills that fits your own preference and level of rigging/modeling skills.
