Workshop with Lokka & Rozyl
This weekend is for those who want to develop their body handling skills while maintaining connection throughout a tying session. We explore how balance, weight and intention can be used to move together, whether on our feet, on the ground or with basic uplines, using judo-inspired movement and logic.
Rather than relying on strength or complex rope patterns, the focus will be on action and reaction: how one movement leads to another, how the body responds, and how rope can support and extend that interaction.
All body types are welcome, and no advanced rope skills are required (see requirements). Most exercises stay close to one-rope play, allowing us to focus on movement, communication and connection.
Content
We will start with balance and action-reaction. We can create stillness, invite movement, disrupt balance or help someone regain it by shifting weight or changing tension or direction. We explore how these small changes affect both the physical movement and the dynamic between tying partners.
From there, we look at how touch and pressure play a major role in body handling. The aim is to make our intentions clear without depending on physical strength. How can we invite movement? And how do you use rope as an extension of your own body?
We also work with giving and receiving weight. Instead of simply moving someone from one position to another, we will explore how both bodies can create new possibilities. This leads to a more dynamic and playful way of interacting with one another, which is ultimately why we do rope.
