You’ve seen them, you’ve loved them, and now it’s time to go deeper. Tifereth’s Greatest Hits is a concentrated immersion into the ideas, harnesses, and methods that make Tif’s style so distinctive. This workshop isn’t just about learning a handful of ties — it’s about unpacking the philosophy and mechanics that lie underneath them. If you’ve ever wanted to understand not only the “how” but the “why” behind Tifereth’s approach, this is the class for you.
Across two days, we’ll explore the foundational harnesses and guiding theories that have shaped Tifereth’s body of work. Participants will leave with a toolkit of ties, principles, and analytical frameworks that can be applied across their own tying practice, whether in performance, play, or creative exploration.
Day One
We’ll start with the iconic Tenshi and Infinity harnesses. Both are deceptively simple ties with enormous expressive and structural potential. We’ll look at their applications, variations, and how they can be layered into a rope scene to maximize posing potential while maintaining sustainability. From there, we’ll dive into Door Theory, one of Tif’s signature conceptual frameworks, which provides a way of thinking about how ties open and close possibilities in the body. By the end of the day, participants will have a strong grounding in the principles of body shaping and aesthetic decision-making that sit at the core of Tifereth’s work.
Day Two
We’ll turn toward the stranger side of things. First up: Swiss Armyness, an endlessly adaptable harness that embodies the playful, experimental edge of Tifereth’s style. We’ll examine its variations, applications, and its role in pushing students out of familiar tying patterns. From there we’ll explore Ultra-Minimalism: the art of creating maximum effect with minimum rope. How do we achieve suspension on less? What does it mean to distill ties down to their essence, and how can we do so responsibly across a wide range of bodies?
Finally, we’ll conclude by working through Decision Trees, a method for analyzing and navigating the options available in rope. Rather than thinking of ties as fixed sequences, Decision Trees give us a way to approach rope as a web of possibilities, empowering riggers to make informed choices based on context, body, and intention.
Who this workshop is for
Riggers should arrive with solid suspension experience, a curiosity about tying outside the box, and a willingness to challenge their own assumptions.
Models should come ready to thoughtfully inhabit their bodies in rope, communicate clearly and honestly, and engage with a wide range of positions including upright, inversion, and torsion.
By the end of the weekend, participants will not only have learned “Tifereth’s Greatest Hits” but also the deeper structures and philosophies that make these ties so enduring and beloved. This is your chance to discover what makes Tifereth’s style Tifereth.
